In the winter of 2016, Plakookee completed a Residency at Community Forklift: a local, non-profit reuse facility in Bladensburg, Maryland.

During this residency, they set up a pop-up photo studio inside the warehouse. Here, they used the reuse facilities’ inventory to photograph their most dynamic materials. The material they collected was used to create energetic, digital prints that playfully meld with the typical household items sold at the non profit. The images gives the material a new context. This reused material gets a third life in an imagined world where it engages with bright colors, bold shapes, and various patterns.

Plakookee's Community Forklift inspired prints are available for purchase. A portion of all sales will benefit Community Forklift’s Home Essentials program, which supplies necessary household items to families in need.
